Tips on what to Wear for your Pro Portrait Session

What to Wear for a Photo Session?

Your photo session is right around the corner and you are not sure what color to wear or what color looks good on you, so you choose Black. Now, if everyone is wearing Black and you post your photo on LinkedIn or a social media site, guess what? Your image will blend right in with everyone else’s and you will be looked over. Their will be no WOW that’s different! A common mistake most people when going into a photo shoot. Picking out the right outfit is important and Andrews Photography can help.

First, figure out what kind of background you most desire, white is in right now and lit by the sun is the way to go. If you are wearing black and the background is white your body will look heavy. Easy fix, wear a solid color so the viewer focuses on your face.
Background choice number two, pick a color or light grey. If your hair is thinning this is a great go too solution. This will help to create mass hair and the center of focus again is the eyes and face.
Background option number three, if you have a company color try to incorporate that color in the photo with the use of a secondary color or object. Out of focus backgrounds digitally dropped in are pretty hot right now see our website for examples of this technique. http://www.Andrews-Photography.comexample black and colored outfit commercial photo tips on what to wear copy

Both Great photos pictured above but the one on the right will get noticed in a sea of other people wearing black. Photos from IAAP event we did last night.

The outfit is easier than you think, please don’t ask your mom, unless she happens to be Dawn Stebbing.

• Ask a friend to give you some idea’s of what they thought were your best colors you wore in last couple of months.
2. Ask a co-worker the same thing
3. Try a professional like Dawn Stebbing or a personal shopper at “Nordstrom’s”.
4. Look at your hair if its dark you may want to try ranges of cool reds, warm purples, medium blues
5. Medium blondes go with blues, greens, corals, or even a gray top on a white or light grey background.
6. Everyone, solid colors are best, layer with a scarf or wear pearl earrings for a classy touch, less is more.
7. Don’t forget your tans and browns if you choose one of these, layer it with something colorful under or over it.
8. Guys bring extra sets of everything and don’t forget dark socks, (leave the white ones at home).

Colors are a extension of your personality, keep in mind your main focus of a personal image used for business is. The image should say I am fun to be with and I know what I am doing in my chosen profession.

Ask yourself this while looking at your old photo,  Would I be willing to work alongside or with this person in a small room.

Saint Paul Public Housing and Saint Paul Fire Department Award Ceremony

Andrews PhotographyApril 30
, 2013
Saint Paul Public Housing Agency to be Commended, Fire Chief to Recognize 20 Year Fire Sprinkler Program
Fire Marshal Steve Zaccard
Saint Paul Fire Chief Tim Butler will commend twenty three employees of the Saint Paul Public Housing Agency
(PHA) for their roles in completing a massive two decades long program for fitting all of the PHA’s sixteen highrise apartment buildings with fire sprinklers.Fires in high rise buildings pose extreme hazards to firefighters and are very time consuming and labor intensive to fight. Fire sprinklers, on the other hand, have an excellent record of keeping fires in check 95% of the time until firefighters can arrive 96% Fire sprinklers reduce property damage 71% and provide occupants an 80% greater chance of surviving a fire than with just smoke detectors, alone. Nationally, 85% of fire
deaths occur in residential occupancies. In Saint Paul that number increases to 100%.
Fire sprinklers have been required by the state building code in new high rise buildings since 1972, but they’re not retroactive. Fire sprinklers were not required in the PHA high rise buildings back when they were first built , but
Executive Direction Jon Gutzmann and his staff set out in 1991 to voluntarily fit all sixteen of their high rise
apartment buildings with fire sprinklers to protect their residents a task worthy of recognition by the Fire Chief.
The project took more than twenty years to complete because funding needed by the PHA withered during the
recession.
