Event Photography, Hmong College Prep Academy

Andrews Photography, Event Photography for Hmong Prep Academy,

We documented The Hmong Prep Academies Ribbon Cutting Ceremony – outside on the stairs of the main entrance to the school. The ribbon cutting had plenty of sunshine but the temperature was a bit chilly. The Formal Program was documented in the new Auditorium, We also took photos of their new Gym & H.S. Cafeteria while people celebrated.Andrews Photography

What Hmong College Prep Academy is about, free tuition for students, all day everyday Kindergarten a freshly cooked breakfast and lunch for ALL students, busing for all with door-to-door pick-up/drop off for students in grades K-8 (Twin Cities & select suburbs), Uniforms provide consistency among students, Convenient St. Paul location, just off Snelling by the State Fairgrounds, 8 AM to 3 PM school day, 30% of staff members fluent in Hmong for non-English speakers. Andrews Photography does many events and weddings throughout the year. These photos were taken at the party to celebrate Beckhoff’s new building in Savage, MN. The new building is fully Automative and built in the style that Beckhoff is known for. Not a single light switch in the place the building does the thinking for you. One step closer to the Jetsons for sure. These are the photos of the food and room set up that The Prom Center/Catering provided. Celebration images to be loaded on a later post. Or check out our website for expanded coverage of the whole event.Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography

Andrews Photography takes real pride in being able to help document this years gala. One of our youngest employees, my son Marco loves this free zoo, one of the last such zoos in the united states. Andrews Photography also donated to the silent auction a corporate portrait experience worth $300.00. With time donated to document the event and ready the images for the web gallery. We are glad to say our donation was valued at close to two thousand dollars.Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography Andrews Photography

Saint Paul Public Housing and Saint Paul Fire Department Award Ceremony

Andrews PhotographyApril 30
, 2013
Saint Paul Public Housing Agency to be Commended, Fire Chief to Recognize 20 Year Fire Sprinkler Program
Fire Marshal Steve Zaccard
Saint Paul Fire Chief Tim Butler will commend twenty three employees of the Saint Paul Public Housing Agency
(PHA) for their roles in completing a massive two decades long program for fitting all of the PHA’s sixteen highrise apartment buildings with fire sprinklers.Fires in high rise buildings pose extreme hazards to firefighters and are very time consuming and labor intensive to fight. Fire sprinklers, on the other hand, have an excellent record of keeping fires in check 95% of the time until firefighters can arrive 96% Fire sprinklers reduce property damage 71% and provide occupants an 80% greater chance of surviving a fire than with just smoke detectors, alone. Nationally, 85% of fire
deaths occur in residential occupancies. In Saint Paul that number increases to 100%.
Fire sprinklers have been required by the state building code in new high rise buildings since 1972, but they’re not retroactive. Fire sprinklers were not required in the PHA high rise buildings back when they were first built , but
Executive Direction Jon Gutzmann and his staff set out in 1991 to voluntarily fit all sixteen of their high rise
apartment buildings with fire sprinklers to protect their residents a task worthy of recognition by the Fire Chief.
The project took more than twenty years to complete because funding needed by the PHA withered during the
recession.

Creative Corporate Portraits, On location, Andrews Photography

Creative Corporate Portraits,

Staff photos of Miller Law office. Great bunch of people. We did two sets of portraits one in the office and one here in the lobby. Great light and Company colors on the wall so it was a instant hit. We had some bad light with over head cans and cold outside blue light coming in. So to fix that we added a bit of man made electronic flash with a modifier attached. Great balance of natural, ceiling and man made light. Thanks to the staff for having your office ready and so many great outfits to pick from. Your going to really enjoy your portraits for years to come.

Jack and Jill, Rites of Passage Ceremony, 2010

Jack and Jill, Rites of Passage Ceremony, 2010, Andrews-Photography documents the ceremony of 20 young men on the path to success. We do not know all the men’s stories or what they have done before but after the ceremony. We have no doubt that they will attain whatever they set out to do. Here is just two group images of the young men.

The 15×30 image was taken prior to the ceremony. The image is available only as a 15×30 or larger if you would like email me direct or call with questions before you order.

The second image is a 5×20, we can order larger images but the smallest would be the 5×20 print or gallery wrap.

A Gallerwrap is a print canvas stretched over a wooden frame, pretty cool you don’t need a frame. Very cutting edge.

Jack and Jill Organization Event: Rites of Passage

Andrews Photography has been working now on this Event for the last three years. We have noticed a trend in the event. The amount of time invested in each Initiate. Time is now the most expensive commodity we have. Rites of passage has put i the time with each one of these young men. Jack and Jill is a essential catalyst for the future. Without this program I think many young men would be left behind.

Many quotes come to mind to back up the ideal of such programs. “It takes a village to raise a child”. If so then let us pray for more such villages as the Jack and Jill Rites of Passage. These 20+ young men have and forever will feel the reassurance that someone took the time to care for them. They will think back when things get tough, that they have some one to call besides there family. Someone who took the time to set them on a path to live beyond what they could hope for. Ceremonies of becoming a adult of leaving behind the things of your childhood and taking the reins of adulthood are needed.

Every Society has “Rites of Passage”, Spanish customs for a young girl are referred to as a “Quincetta”. When she is considered old enough to take up the commandments and be an adult. The Jewish Community has a similar ceremony the Bar Mitzvah. I have been to many such ceremonies and have noticed a definite change in each individual partaking in the process and ceremony. The Rites of Passage is needed in every community to help these young men weather the storm of being a man.

Rites of passage has done a fantastic job of being flexible and changing with the times. They strive to be better each year and should be commended for their drive and conviction. I am sure they put in many more hours then needed. They proceed out of love to these young gentle men to help guild them down there path.

The grand ceremony the impending event, without this there would be no drive, no catalyst for these initiates to do better. Without the mentors there would be no one guide to spur them on. I hear that a few of these young men do not have fathers or male role models. What a gift to them then to have someone to look up to. If the program can elevate one individual save one person from going down a path he could have otherwise side stepped. Then it is a success for all.

I am Rod Andrew Wilson and I believe in The Rites Of Passage

Appreciation party

Rod was invited to a appreciation party at the Hilton Garden Inn – St. Paul/Oakdale. The party was for their vendors and past clients. Rod was able to meet a few really great people and sample some wonderful food. The attendees also got a chance to photograph themselves in the traveling photo booth. Kind of fun, wish Andrews photography had two of these things. See Rod in the photo he is in the top right corner with the hat. Thanks again to the Hilton Staff for putting on such a tasty spread.
